New fall releases!

We're coming back big this fall! After taking about a month off to get our restaurant off the ground (and after sending the Shredded Wheat comp all around the globe, where it's been getting radio play and reviews all over), we're finally ready to starting putting out new records.

First up: Royal Red Brigade "Out of the Trenches" 7" (white vinyl, 500 pressings). The punkrawk allstar crew that's been burning up Regina is putting out their 7" this fall. There's no release date set yet, but the pressing is already under way so it shouldn't be long! Art work and pre-orders will go up soon, in the meantime here's the track list:

Side A
1. We're All In - 3:58
2. Blackout City Nights - 2:31

Side B
3. Lost Cause - 2:22
4. Search the City - 2:54
5. Vampire Prom Queen - 2:46

Next we have the debut full-length CD from Black Drink Crier, tentatively titled "Births, Deaths and Marriages". Songwriter Cameron Wensel (West Port Murders) offers 13 tracks of prairie roots, songs of love, remorse and death. It is being recorded with an array of friends including the Lazy MK's, and should be ready for a late-fall release.

A fun update

Hey everyone. Just popping in to tell you that this coming Friday night, August the 14th, Harvest King's own Molten Lava will be making their triumphant return to our city. They've got a small tour-type thing going right now, and on this particular evening you'll be able to catch them at the Exchange, alongside Violent Kin and Foxwarren.
(This show did not make it to the Live page because I was lazy.)

You can also go see the Famines at the Club, right next door, that same evening. They played Harvest King's Mayday fest this spring, so you can attend knowing they've got the HKR Seal of Approval.

And hey, why not check out both shows that night! You totally could. It's a free country.

Just for future reference;

If you are experiencing problems with the Harvest King site (links are dead, Paypal is broken, text is displaying upside down), please e-mail masonpitzel@gmail.com. I will do my best to put on a pot of coffee and pretend I have the skills necessary to fix it. Thank you.

Back from the Great North

Hey, so I spent most of the last week and half or so in Northern Saskatchewan doing all sorts of weird wild things in the trees, water and hills.. but I'm back now and here's what's new:

So, when the SHREDDED WHEAT VOL. 1 comps first arrived a couple weeks ago there was a glitch on the discs and we had to get a new batch made. Bad news, the release was delayed and we're only just shipping them out this week, but the good news is we got 1000 free discs out of it, so we can send them all over the world even more liberally than we ever planned.

We still have Have Heart tickets for sale but they're moving really fast for a show that's a month away, so if you haven't already, get on that shit.

Everything on our site is now in stock and ready to ship.

And the Failed States release show is happening this Thursday in Regina! It's at the Buffalo Lounge along with Cope (Edmonton), GSTS (BC), Class War Kids (Maritimes), and Brat Attack (Winnipeg). BE THERE!

That's all for now.

Only One More Week Away!

These Are The People In Your Neighborhood:

Saturday, June 13, 2009

"Are you really in Misery Signals? You can touch my boob."

Some explanation is required: Last fall, outside of the BANE (and a bunch of other bands) show in Regina, these teen horror-movie tranny types asked me and Dylan if we played in a band, to which we obviously responded "Yeah, we're in Misery Signals." The girls were thrilled, and wanted to have their picture taken with their heroes. When Mike Brown came over and told them he was lead singer Karl, they were ecstatic. It was just as the flash was about to explode when the chubbier of the two dropped the now-famous quote, which Mikey instantly obliged without any thought. We exploded.

Somehow this just re-surfaced on good ol' Facebook. Enjoy.

HKR Fundraiser

(copy-pasted from Facebook)

Hey everyone, Harvest King Records is in mighty need of raising some cash to help pay for all the records, promo, and mind control devices we're undertaking this summer, so we're going to have a big outdoor dance party to raise some cash.

The party starts at 7pm, and is all ages (with lots and lots of booze for those of age). It goes until late.

Descalso - new Latin/raggae group in town www.myspace.com/descalso
Lazy MK's - amazing progressive country www.myspace.com/thelazymks
Oye! - Latin/hip-hop collective www.myspace.com/oyecollective
Hardtoe - funky beats and golden moments
Archie Cooper - ass shakin party jams www.myspace.com/archiecooper

Besides the music, there will be a dance performance from the lovely and talented FADADANCE, a BBQ, a raffle and silent auction featuring lots of amazing art work by Regina's finest, and of course all the finest records and merch money can buy from the good folk at Harvest King Records.

Gonna be a grand ole time.
