Only One More Week Away!

These Are The People In Your Neighborhood:

Saturday, June 13, 2009

"Are you really in Misery Signals? You can touch my boob."

Some explanation is required: Last fall, outside of the BANE (and a bunch of other bands) show in Regina, these teen horror-movie tranny types asked me and Dylan if we played in a band, to which we obviously responded "Yeah, we're in Misery Signals." The girls were thrilled, and wanted to have their picture taken with their heroes. When Mike Brown came over and told them he was lead singer Karl, they were ecstatic. It was just as the flash was about to explode when the chubbier of the two dropped the now-famous quote, which Mikey instantly obliged without any thought. We exploded.

Somehow this just re-surfaced on good ol' Facebook. Enjoy.

HKR Fundraiser

(copy-pasted from Facebook)

Hey everyone, Harvest King Records is in mighty need of raising some cash to help pay for all the records, promo, and mind control devices we're undertaking this summer, so we're going to have a big outdoor dance party to raise some cash.

The party starts at 7pm, and is all ages (with lots and lots of booze for those of age). It goes until late.

Descalso - new Latin/raggae group in town www.myspace.com/descalso
Lazy MK's - amazing progressive country www.myspace.com/thelazymks
Oye! - Latin/hip-hop collective www.myspace.com/oyecollective
Hardtoe - funky beats and golden moments
Archie Cooper - ass shakin party jams www.myspace.com/archiecooper

Besides the music, there will be a dance performance from the lovely and talented FADADANCE, a BBQ, a raffle and silent auction featuring lots of amazing art work by Regina's finest, and of course all the finest records and merch money can buy from the good folk at Harvest King Records.

Gonna be a grand ole time.
